Vegetable Candle Wax

Vegetable wax is made through a process known as hydrogenating and some are made from rapeseed oil and soya bean oil. The process alters the vegetable oil into a wax and many candle makers prefer to use this natural vegetable candle wax.

The Advantages of Using Vegetable Wax

Many candle makers see the main advantage of using vegetable wax is that it is made from vegetable oil and is regarded as more environmentally friendly than other non vegetable paraffin waxes. Candles made from vegetable wax are typically referred to as natural candles. With people now being far more environmentally conscious it has led to a big swing towards more usage of vegetable waxes in recent years. 

As well as vegetable wax having the benefit of being a natural wax it also has a rich creamy colour. Candle makers prefer it as well as it does not produce as much soot as an alternative paraffin wax if it is not wicked correctly. The disadvantages are that you will need to use more fragrance as the scent throw is not as powerful as the equivalent amount used in paraffin wax. Vegetable wax can also be quite tricky when using wicks in bigger candle glasses.
