Mineral waxes are also easier to wick than vegetable waxes. With vegetable waxes if you get the wicking wrong you may run into trouble burning the candle and may find big melt pools. It is widely accepted that paraffin wax is much easier to use for candle making as you do not have to be as precise when wicking and also working out how much fragrance to use.
