Wick Sustainers (also known as Metal Tabs) are needed to hold your wick firmly in place at the bottom of your candle container. By fixing the wick to a sustainer helps prevent the wick from rising to the top of the candle when you add the molten wax to the candle container. They are very easy to use, simply crimp (squeeze) the candle wick and put it into the hole in the sustainer - many people use pliers for this. Some people like to put a little glue into the hole before they put in the wick and then they let the glue dry with the wick in place.
When you put the sustainer onto the bottom of the candle you should stick it down using a wick glue dot or a wick stick um. If you don’t have these you can also try using double-sided sticky paper.
The wick sustainer is 15mm wide and is ideal for small to medium sized containers. If you are using a bigger container you could use a 20mm sustainer.
